I bought a Lexmark printer and it won’t allow me to print another sheet of paper. I found out that there is a chip, that works like a counter, and when it hits the magic number of prints, no matter what you do, it won’t print another sheet. I contacted their support and they won’t guarantee that the 28A or 29A won’t have a chip that will cut off printing as well.

I couldn’t of guessed that I could spend over $180.00 on a printer and get locked into an "contract" that I will only buy ink from the Lexmark. They have their ink cartridges so locked down you can’t get around it. Nowhere was this stated on the box, I wouldn’t of bought it had I known.

I want to hear from people who have bought a new printer recently, within the year, and are able to use refillable ink in the cartridges without hassles. So, if this is still possible please give me the name of the printer manufacturer and the printer series. Thanks.

Canon printers will let you use refills. I believe HPs do as well. Whatever you do do not get an Epson as you will have the same problem as Lexmark.

If you buy a Canon that uses CL1-8 and PGI-5 cartridges (too many to name) you can buy a chip re-setter that re-sets the ink levels so the printer thinks it’s running with a new cartridge. I have the Canon MP610 and have not bought a new cartridge in over a year!

Again. Too many models to list. All cannon printers will work with refills but ones the CLI-8 PGI-5 cartridges have chip resetters available to show full ink levels!

I’m trying to refill my canon mp250 black ink cartridge, where do I drill my hole in the cartridge?

Do you have the instructions for your refill kit? It should show you where to drill.

I’ve used refill kits before and they are cheaper, but can take a bit of extra time to get the hang of. Never with a Canon before though. Whenever I’ve used them though the instructions are fairly clear about what you need to do.

I’ve been buying non-OEM cartridges and they’ve worked out really well. I’ve even found discounts like 4inkjets, CarrotInk, and 1800inkjets coupons http://www.discountspies.com/123inkjets-coupons/ to help lower the cost even further. It comes out to be a substantial savings over shopping at the big box stores and using name brand (OEM) ink.

I’m sorry, but I bet it’s too late now. I’m sure the padding underneath is soaked as well, and even if you get the stain out of the carpet part, it’ll continue to return. I think you’ll need to just cut out that square of carpet and the padding underneath and replace it. It’s easily done, and if done well, you won’t even be able to notice it.
